The Second Quarter Quell

Four kids for district. That's this year conditions. If this couldn't get any worse, they thought it would be a great idea to double the number of tributes. I am not that used of sending kids to the arena that I can take care of this all by myself. Watching the games is also heart breaking. At any moment my district may lose a tribute once again. 4 years of this and I still didn't get one kid back.

At least I only have to deal with this crap one more year. Just one more year..

I see Atticus around the sponsors most of the time. That guy is really trying... His first year and he didn't simply give up because of the changes. He is actually using his popularity to help them...

We really haven't talked much after that first time he was called, and the Capitol ended up forgetting the rumors and leave us alone. Axl has been worried with his wedding that is going to be held only after the games.

It hit me that suddenly I was alone. And I had one out of four kids that I could try to save. I follow Atticus example and spend all day with the sponsor. Sometimes using less honest ways to convince them. But I own that to those kids. And to those families.

It was the fifth day and my third kid just died. I only had one tribute left. And it was a 14 year old.. Her chances weren't that good...

- Hey, cowboy. - I say with a tired smile. - I'm a little tired... But I can go by. What about you?

- I don't really wish for that to happen. I guess I can just get super fat and they'll end up leaving me alone. Right? I mean, some may like the chubby type but it won't be so often. - I joke.

- My prep team doesn't let me do that. And they have hot wax. I don't want to contradict them.. Better dealing with them the good way. - I giggle .why am I laughing so much around this guy?
